Chapter Two: Always On My Mind.

Hiya! I’ve been gone away for quite some time haven’t I? Truth is, I was thinking what I would be writing next. It took a while, but here it is:

In my years of traveling around, and I’m not saying that I know everything, but in my 23 years of living I do can assured that I have a good amount of travel in my back, and until now I still haven’t met or see a place that feels and looks like this one. The place in this case being my hometown. Home is home, you know? But it’s not just about that, it’s what it means, is what represents in a way, I suppose.

People always say that you don’t appreciate what you’ve got until it’s gone right? Well, I always knew this place was special, sometimes I think anyone can tell that by just being there, I don’t know what it is exactly, but I like to believe that there’s something magical about it. Although there are rumors about wizards and stuff, but that’s for a whole new chapter. Maybe it’s a common thing between little cities or towns. Maybe not. But I supposed I’m getting to far from here.

I have to say my favorite spot is definitely standing by the window of the third floor in my house, looking to the south side of the island (yes, I live in an island), with the same houses that have been there since forever, the boats that stays there even for months and the cars that passed by at every possible hour, no matter how late it is, you can always see one car driving there and passing through across the street. The smell of sea combined with the cold and chilly air that wakes you up for being so fresh, and the sky so clear that you can see is not a dark night, because it’s so blue and bright and you can see all the stars above and it suddenly feels overwhelming that you can’t believe you’re standing in that place.

You can see it, when you look through the window, when you breathe the air, when you feel the sea and the peacefulness among you, among everything, the nature. It can feel endless and infinite and I could be standing there seeing that view forever.

“Look at the sky. It’s not dark and black and without character. The black is, in fact deep blue. And over there: lighter blue and blowing through the blues and blackness the winds swirling through the air and then shining, burning, bursting through: the stars! And you see how they roar their light. Everywhere we look, the complex magic of nature blazes before our eyes.” ~Vincent Van Gogh (Doctor Who ‘Vincent And The Doctor’ S05E10)

Chapter One: At The Beginning.

¿Have you ever been in a place that it seems so incredible just for the main reason of being there? It can make you feel like you’re in the right place, like you deserve to be there. It can become everything in that single moment. Like nothing else exists around you, but that place. ¿Have you felt it? ¿When was it?

When I was little, I remember seeing a lot of people coming to my house, to visit. My family is very sociable. So I’ve always enjoy when strange people came. And by strange people I mean, sometimes really strange people.

One time I heard a man said that “In this place, even a blind man could recover his vision.” He was talking about my home, more specifically, about the landscape you could see from my kitchen. I can’t really remember the name of the man; I was quite little when my mom invited him to have tea with us, but I will always remember his words, that phrase really stuck with me because I could feel he really meant it.

In those days of course, I didn’t take those words as words of wisdom, but, years later, when it was my time to move and go away from my home, I suddenly realize what he tried to say that time. He was right. And I will always treasure that moment.
